U Rajesh Naik is a man with a green thumb. A very big green thumb, actually, considering he’s managed to convert about 100 acres of barren land into a green belt. The BSc graduate and owner of Oddoor Farms has not just managed to convert 100 acres adjacent to the Export Promotion Industrial Park at Gajimat Post. He’s also developed a 50-ft deep lake across two acres that is used for irrigation.
Rajesh Naik also started the dairy farm with a few cows. But now, there are about 200 cows supplying an approximate 800-1,000 litres of milk to the KMF every day. Oddoor Farms is probably one of the largest suppliers of milk to the KMF in Dakshina Kannada.
Rajesh Naik’s form is the largest organic farms in the coastal region, with areca plantations spread across 10 acres and coconut palms across 20-25 acres. Mango, cashew and other fruits and vegetables grown too.
